Busy week for Alphahek, our joint venture with Vanthek International, offloading 50 meters long steel tubular piles with diameters of 1500 mm as well as Load test reaction piling works at the Tsunza viaduct for the Mombasa Port Area Road Development Project (Package 2).
As part of the greater Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) initiative by the Government of Kenya, the Mombasa Port Area Road Development Project (Package 2) involves the construction of the Mwache Junction – Tsunza – Mteza section that consists of the 660 meters Mwache Bridge that will land on the Tsunza peninsula in Kwale County, where it will link up with the Mteza Bridge to complete the South Coast mainland connection.
The Mteza Bridge will be the longest in Kenya at 1,440 meters. The total road length between Mwache junction and Mteza is 8.9 km.
The Dongo Kundu by-pass will connect the Mombasa West mainland to South Coast and is expected to ease movement to and from the southern part of the coastal region.
Alphahek is honored to be playing a pivotal role in making this a reality.
